Accessibility Policies for Run the Flex

Background

Run the Flex is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities and individuals with age-related limitations. We will put the following policies into practice as required by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

This policy is intended to meet the requirements of Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07 under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and applies to the provision of services to the public or other third parties.

The provision of services to persons with disabilities will be integrated with those provided to persons who do not have disabilities unless an alternative measure is necessary to enable a person with a disability to obtain, use or benefit from our services, where commercially reasonable. Persons with disabilities will be given an opportunity equal to that of persons without disabilities to obtain, use or benefit from our services, where commercially reasonable.

General

Run the Flex is committed to training staff on Ontario’s accessibility laws and on accessibility aspects of the Human Rights Code that apply to persons with disabilities. Training will be provided in a way that best suits the duties of employees, volunteers and other staff members.

Assistive devices

We will ensure that our staff members are trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by customers with disabilities while accessing our goods or services where commercially reasonable.

Service animals

We are not able to permit access to our facilities to service animals because of limitations by our Landlord.

Support persons

A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them on our premises. Each support person will need to sign off their agreement with the Run the Flex Waiver, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Information and communications

Run the Flex is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. When asked, we will provide information and communications materials in accessible formats or with communication supports, where commercially reasonable. This includes publicly available information about our goods, services and facilities, as well as publicly available emergency information.

Run the Flex will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs, where commercially reasonable.

Employment

Run the Flex will notify the public and staff that, when requested, we will accommodate disabilities during recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired. If needed, we will provide customized workplace emergency information to employees who have a disability. If using performance management, career development and redeployment processes, we will take into account the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities, where commercially reasonable.

Modifications to this or other policies

Any of our policies that do not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities will be modified, as commercially reasonable, or removed.
