Where community, culture & street dance meet

A vibrant, homegrown dance studio in the heart Toronto

With Hip Hop and Street Dance at our core, we offer a range of dance styles taught by Toronto’s top instructors, dedicated to helping you reach your personal best.

Located at 893 Yonge Street, 2nd Floor, take drop-in classes or sign up for a program – we can’t wait to welcome you to the RTF fam.

GOOD TO KNOW for your first class

  • There are several ways to dance with us! We offer daily drop-in classes where you can choose your class, skill level, and style, and just show up.

Additionally, we have drop-in "Series" classes, which focus on different styles of Street Dance (such as Popping, Locking, House, etc.) and rotate monthly. Each month explores a new focus within the genre— for example, month 1 might dive into House "Footwork," while month 2 could cover House "Foundations." This allows you to really hone in on a specific skill within the style for 4 weeks.

We also offer progressive programs ranging from 6 to 16 weeks for those looking for a more structured approach to their dance journey, and a 9 month training company called Black Ops, for dedicated dancers looking to level up within a supportive community!

Please check our schedule to see what’s coming up, or join our mailing list to be notified when new program registration opens up.

  • Please arrive 5-10 mins prior to the class start time, and check in with our friendly front desk team! We offer individual restrooms/change rooms and a filtered water station. Latecomers can join no later than 10 minutes past the class start time.

  • Whatever you are most comfortable moving and grooving in! Sneakers are recommended for all Hip Hop and Street Dance classes. Heel caps are required for heels classes (sold for in-studio for $5). For outfit inspiration check out our classes on YouTube.

  • Professionally filmed class footage can be downloaded HERE 24-48 hours post-class. Note: only some classes film choreography at the end. If you’re camera shy — we’ve got you! You will always be given the option to dance on or off camera. Any footage recorded from the back of the room on our studio iPAD, is uploaded to the channel #ipad-footy which you can find by joining our community Discord Server.

  • If you cannot attend a class you have registered for, please cancel your reservation at least 4 hours ahead of the class start time to avoid losing your credit, via your online account or the RTF app (available on the App Store & Google Play).

  • Welcome to the RTF fam! Chat with fellow dancers, get class recommendations, and be the first to know about upcoming events. Join the RTF Discord Server.

OUR VIBE

hey, we’re aaron & nicole

Welcome to Run The Flex (RTF)! We’re Aaron and Nicole, Toronto-based dance artists with a commitment to fostering community. We’re so happy you’re here.

Prior to opening our doors at 893 Yonge Street, RTF was a passion project where we taught hundreds of students how to feel confident while dancing! After teaming up with one of our long time students, Lisa Heath, RTF officially opened in January 2023.

We are so proud that RTF is now a central hub for dance in the heart of Toronto, fostering a sense of belonging for all.

With Hip Hop and Street Dance at our core, we are dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of Hip Hop, while offering a range of styles and levels. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or are taking your first steps into the studio, our classes and programs are designed to meet you where you are and help you grow.

We look forward to seeing you in the studio!
