O’Shani “Ocean” Cardwell
O’Shani has grown to be an ambitious dancer in street dance styles: locking, popping, hip hop, house, jazz funk, and a strong presence in the commercial industry.
O’Shani is an Elite member of the street dance crew, Footnotes, lead by Mariano and Andrew Pyro Chung. After 4 years of training under these two Toronto legends, she co-created an all female street dance crew of her own, House of Hunniez, that aims to encompass the evolution of street dance, freestyle and choreography in one.
As a versatile mover, O'Shani has been fortunate enough to travel, perform, and train with choreographers, dancers and teachers in street dance, and the dance industry. Some of O’Shani’s work involves a world tour for Youtube sensation, Lilly Singh, choreographers like Charm Ladona, and Tanisha Scott. She has had the opportunity to perform with artists like Reve, Charmaine, Haviah Mighty, and Meghan Trainor, on stages like the Junos and Toronto’s iHeart Radio MMVA’s. You can also find O’Shani in film and T.V shows “Work It”, and “Grand Army”. Some of O’Shani’s later work bridges into acting as a cheerleader in the Maroon cheer squad in CBC Gem “Revenge of the Black Best Friend”.
Moving forward, O’Shani aspires to expand her horizon within the world of dance creating pieces of work that speak to a greater purpose than her own.
