Christina de la cruz

Christina de la Cruz was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She received most of her Hip Hop training from the Cabbagetown Youth Centre in the heart of St. Jamestown. After working in Los Angeles for 5 years, she returned to Toronto where she is currently pursuing a masters degree in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory at McMaster University. Her research interests revolve around Black diasporic cultural production, archiving street dance, caring for/curating dancing bodies, and Black identity in Canadian art. She weaves her personal artistic practice with her political and social ideologies of abolition, liberation and equity.
